all about Oreo
“Oreo was an outdoor cat. She came to a home one day years ago asking for food. The kind lady in the home was very allergic to cats. So she bought a heated outdoor house and put it on her porch and fed her and took care of her for many years. She even went as far as getting her surgery on her ear because she had polyps ..
Then sadly, her husband lost her job. They had to move upstate and because it was remote and in a woodsy area, with coyotes and such, she felt it would not be safe to take Oreo with her. When they sold her home she asked the new owners if they liked cats and if they would consider taking care of sweet Oreo. Happily they agreed. She bought a year’s worth of food for them and moved with a heavy heart but truly believing that Oreo was in good hands. Months later, an old neighbor got in touch with her to let her know that Oreo was begging at everyone’s door on the block asking to be let in and asking for food. The new owners were hardly there, there home was always dark, there was no food, and Oreo needed help.
From upstate she called us and begged us to go get her. We met a neighbor and took her into rescue.
Her first night in my home she slept for hours in a cozy bed, ate at least two cans of wet food and drank a whole bowl of water.
She’s on antibiotics for her ear because the polyp grew back. She will most likely need surgery again. She is 10 years old. She never lived in a home. She is adjusting quite nicely because even though she lived outside, she loved people.
This little munchkin has touched my heart.
We need your help. We would like to raise some funds to help with her medical bills. We would also like to find someone that would like to give her a home. She’s quiet. Low maintenance. She loves to eat. She loves company. She is a senior cat but she deserves as much a chance at a warm and loving home as every cute little kitten that comes our way. She’s a peanut.
She is worth it. She is deserving of love and warmth and life. We need some help to give her that chance.
Please consider helping Oreo with a donation of any amount towards her care.
And most importantly share her story…maybe her beautiful future is out there.”
