Meet Quentin

Quentin spent his life outdoors as part of a group of community cats in Huntington Station. After the group’s original feeder passed away, another dedicated caregiver continued arriving every morning to make sure Quentin and the other cats had food. Because Quentin was so sweet and comfortable around people, it was clear that he deserved the opportunity to leave outdoor life behind and find a permanent home.

Estimated to be approximately 5 years old, Quentin is a wonderfully substantial gray tabby-and-white boy who weighed just over 16 pounds when he arrived. He was already neutered and ear-notched, and his veterinary examination showed that his teeth were in excellent condition. Quentin tested positive for FIV, but his remaining bloodwork was normal.

Quentin is currently staying at an NCRA rescue cottage, where he peacefully shares space with the other cats. He has been around both people and cats throughout his life, and no aggression has been observed—even when another cat approaches him while he is eating.

He can be reserved when someone first enters the room and may remain tucked inside one of the cat houses rather than coming out to greet visitors. But once you approach him, his sweet nature becomes clear. Quentin loves being petted and has a wonderfully loud purr that lets you know how much he enjoys the attention.

After a lifetime outdoors, Quentin is ready to discover the comfort and security of a home of his own. He would do best with someone who will approach him gently, give him time to settle in and appreciate the quiet affection this big, mellow boy has to offer.
